Position Summary

The Pathway Area Manager works as part of a team to help BYU-Pathway Worldwide manage and direct several functions and programs across international areas. The area manager has direct supervision over field operations for one or more of the 15 areas outside North America. Among other things, the area manager oversees and maintains relationships with key ecclesiastical leaders, Self-Reliance Services, and Seminary & Institute personnel, which may include Area Seventies, stake presidents, Self-Reliance managers, institute directors, and Pathway missionaries. The area manager shares information with and assists these partners in the smooth implementation and operation of programs by making strategic site visits and maintaining regular contact from the Salt Lake City office. Additionally, the area manager is responsible to develop and implement action plans in support of the organization’s strategic priorities, with the intent to meet or exceed key performance indicators.

Work Location:
The BYU-Pathway Worldwide team is currently transitioning from Rexburg, Idaho, to Salt Lake City, Utah. The selected candidate for this position will relocate to Salt Lake City or the surrounding area upon hire.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

The required qualifications for this position would most typically be met with the following:

• Bachelor’s degree
• Experience managing projects or programs
• Refined public speaking and presentation skills
• Ability to work well with people, including ecclesiastical leaders, Church employees, as well as in teams and committees
• Effective and engaging communication skills, including video conferencing and polished writing
• Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel
• Area knowledge or work experience in Latin America, along with advanced Spanish and cultural awareness of the region, is desired
• Higher Education administration, S&I administration, or public management experience is a plus

Work Schedule

Typical Monday through Friday, 8-5 work schedule, with an expectation for additional work hours as needed; possibly some weekend and holiday work on occasion; frequent travel.
